Wolfgang Zerer
Wolfgang Zerer (b. 1961) got his first organ lessons from the organist at the Passau Cathedral, Walther Schuster. Since 1980 he studied in Wien, harpsichord with Gordon Murray, organ music with Michael Radulescu, conducting with Karl Österreicher, and church music. Later he studied harpsichord in Amsterdam with Ton Koopman, church music and organ in Stuttgart with Ludger Lohmann. In 1989, he was appointed Professor of Organ Music at Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. Since 1995, he is a Guest Professor at Conservatorium Groningen, and since 2006, an Associate Professor of Organ Music at Schola Cantorum in Basel.
Prof. Zerer holds awards from international organ music competitions, e.g., in Brügge or Innsbruck.
